Why it’s great:
- 3-inch 170° articulated touchscreen.
- 2-megapixel APS-C sensor.
- Wi-Fi connectivity.
- 7fps continuous shooting.
Canon’s EOS 70D remains one of our favourite cameras, particularly for its excellent 3-inch touch screen. It can be rotated through a range of angles to give you the perfect viewpoint no matter the situation. It responds to two-finger touch as well, meaning you can zoom in on pictures using the screen. As well as the flip screen, the rest of the features are excellent too. The 20.2-megapixel sensor captures colour and detail to a very high standard, and with lens correction it will negate and unwanted distortions caused by an attached lens. The dual pixel autofocus is great for shooting stills, as well as video, which is particularly useful when using the live view. Its body design is sturdy and well-built, and overall there’s very little this camera doesn’t do well.
- The 70D is a great camera, but it’s definitely not a budget one. Even though there are later models, expect to still pay a fair amount for this one.
